O kay, so you have joined the family and one of our Great Danes is now a "Hairy Child" living the life of Riley at your house. Eating all your Steaks, sleeping on your bed, pushing you off youR couch, and generally doing all the things that children do. We are family now, and we take care of our own. What does this mean to you? It means that "our" Great Danes can never wind up on the "street".
Society will not tolerate the heart break of our children with no home, or a Family Great Dane for that matter, in other words, they can always come home. No matter what happens, our hairy children will always be our hairy children, and we take care of our own. If anything changes in the lives our families, our Great Danes must come home. We have microchipped our babies so that if for any reason they are scanned by a reader, they are to be returned to us under any circumstances.
This is not just an understanding between family members its the law. If you take one of our babies home, and for any reason circumstances change, baby comes home. When a Family Great Dane is placed with your family, you agree to this. If only your parents felt the same way about you, but thats another story.
This is the page where the Applications for placement will be found, and families who accept our babies will be able to download the forms dealing with the understandings between our family and yours, because after all now we are all family, related through are hairy children and we can all agree on how things will be handled by reviewing each page of this site and acknowledging we understand each other before our hairy children become members of each others family.
If you do not agree with this perhaps you want to rethink the whole Great Dane "thing" and consider a goldfish, or maybe a hamster or something.

PURCHASE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN BUYER AND FAMILY GREAT DANES
BREED: Great Dane
This is a contract between the seller and buyer. There will be a $50.00 charge for any stop payment or
insufficient fund checks or any closed accounts. Consider this your first notice and bogus checks will be
turned over to our Attorney for collections. If pup is shipped only paypal payment accepted.
This puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of pick up or delivery.
Replacement claims of puppy will be made (with the next available litter. Same sex as listed above but same color is not guaranteed) only if entire requirements are as followed.
Be sure of your commitment to the life time responsibility of owning a Great Dane because:
Under no circumstances are refunds made.
1. The puppy must be taken to the vet within 48 hrs of purchase and a copy of the vet bill returned as proof within 2 weeks or this contract is null and void. If puppy is declared to be in a life threatening condition by a practicing licensed Vet within 48 hrs of purchase date a written report by the D.V.M. must be submitted to seller.
2. The puppy is returned to the seller alive within 48 hrs of purchase date at buyer’s expense along with papers.
3. If the puppy dies you must have followed your Vet’s advice and have a necropsy performed (at buyer’s expense) by your state/province lab and provide seller copy of report.
4. Seller doesn’t guarantee against hypoglycemia or any other common problems such as diarrhea, wormy stool, coccidiosis, ear mites, external parasites, stress due to shipping, or new home. Other minor problems are not covered under this guarantee and are the responsibility of the buyer.
5. Buyer must vet inspect and purchase health insurance within 24 hours of delivery, and contact seller by telephone and fax confirming same within 24 hours, and stay in communication on a daily basis if any issues concerning health arrise. Any and all veterinarian expenses are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
6. All puppies are sold as pets only, unless a seperate contract is attached for Show or Breeding. No guarantee will be given as to size, color, quality, or fertility.
7. Puppies are susceptible to pneumonia and other infections due to drafts, cold temperatures, and stress from shipping, etc…. They are vulnerable to viral infection including: Parvo, Distemper, and Corona Viruses. Any and all the above mentioned minor and major need to be checked by your D.V.M. within 24 hours of receiving puppy, if they occur, D.V.M.’s advice for treatment must be followed.
8. Completing the puppy’s infant vaccination series and annual boosters are advised to be delayed if the puppy shows any signs of virus, infections, or running nose, coughing, vommiting, diarea, etc, pending resolution of any virus's or infections present, and resumed after a suitable period of no virus or infection, and suitable antibodies present in your puppy as determined by your vet.
9. Seller will not be responsible for accidents that can happen after pup leaves seller or after shipped by plane.
10. Minor health problems that can be cured by medication/surgery are not covered by any guarantee.
11. If puppy is purchased on a spay/neuter contract (limited registration) puppy must be sterilized at the appropriate age, and a written report sent back to seller. If no report is sent within 10 months of age of the puppy, buyer will relinquish ownership back to seller at buyer’s expense, and this contract will be plead as a complete claim for the costs and court Orders concerned with the return. Puppies are returned to Family Great Danes without penalty if for any reason the buyer can no longer care for the puppy, failing which the buyer is responsible for all costs of retrieving the Dane as outlined above.
12. Seller is responsible for all congenital defects up to six months old (hip dysplasia- xrays must be rejected by OFA or by PIN Hip, deafness, demodectic mange, patella luxation, heart murmur, etc.) if the buyer is told of any congenital defect after six months seller is not responsible for that defect. Puppy must be returned with papers at buyers expense to receive replacement pup. Shipping if required of replacement pup is at expense of buyers.
13. All legal matters will be handled in City of Toronto, province of Ontario, Canada.
14. Family Great Danes will extend the standard two year replacement guarantee of your puppy to seven years, provided our vet inspects the puppy during the 24th month of age and your puppy passes the examination. Call in advance to make an appointment.
There is no oral representation or warranties not contained herein. This contract of sale contains the entire agreement between the parties. All implied guarantees are hereby excluded.
The Buyer is deemed to have read this and all published webpages on the Family Great Danes website and agrees to the above contract and written guarantee when buyer issues funds such as cash, cheque, or internet funds via paypal or credit card.
